EXPOSURE TO RESEARCH METHODS
A major component of the Advanced Residency Program was an introduction to the research methods and objectives of the Image Permanence Institute.
During the first year, Fellows were exposed to ongoing research projects and methods through visits to RIT and presentations by IPI staff. Fellows could develop a number of small research projects during the first year as part of their course work and practicum.
During the second year, Fellows were required to either undertake a major capstone research project or continue examining a series of smaller research projects. Fellows developed proposals for the capstone research project in the last quarter of the first year by working closely with the program directors by shaping and finalizing a well-conceived and practical research plan.
Whether Fellows chose to conduct a series of small research projects or a capstone project during the second year, they were required to complete a publishable paper before the end of their Fellowship. |
